Site Preparation

At this stage, the well is cleaned to remove any remaining fluids, debris, or obstructions. A workover rig arrives to begin the P&A process.

Plugging the Well

The well is now ready to be set with approved plugging materials. Cast Iron Cement plugs are placed at specific intervals within the wellbore to prevent fluids and gasses from migrating. The well's surface and production casing is cemented in place to provide further isolation of the well zones.

Final Plug

A final cement plug is placed at the bottom of the well to permanently seal off the reservoir. Once the cement is set, the wellhead equipment is removed and the wellhead area is capped and sealed.

Site Restoration

The well site is restored to its natural state or as required by regulatory standards. Bonfire works directly with the Railroad Commission of Texas to ensure the work completed is in full compliance.
